Dinghy Instructor training

RYA Dinghy Instructor is an internationally recognised qualification that allows you to deliver RYA content under the supervision of a Senior Instructor at any club or organisation.

It's a fun way to volunteer at the club and improve your sailing understanding and skills. We usually run one course per year consisting of a pre-assessment day plus 5 days of training.

You'll also need to complete your Powerboat 2 qualification (two days) and a First Aid course (1 day).

Open to anyone over the age of 16 who can sail equivalent of RYA level 3 Youth or RYA 2 adult. Younger candidates cannot be considered as this is an RYA requirement.

Training is free but you'll need to volunteer to support club training 3-4 days per year for at least two years.
