Juniors

Our training programmes encourage our junior members to learn to sail and then to improve their sailing skills by learning to race. We use Oppies, Toppers and Firefly dinghies which help us create an enviroment that encourages children to continue sailing into their teenage years and beyond.

Congratulations  young people who took part in Junior Sailing Week 2017 and massive thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen; J.P, Mike Hobin, Oli and Hugo Burrows, James and Ben Nicholl, Sophie Jo and of course Alex.

This year we had nearly 50 Juniors developing their sailing skills and had a wide range of wind and weather conditions.

Also a big thank you to the Parents who helped crew the Patrol boats and carried you maintenance around the club whilst the kids enjoyed themselves

Junior sailing week is a unique opportunity at WOSC for our juniors to enjoy sailing the club boats in a structured way that introduces some juniors to sailing for the first time, others honing their skills. The really great part is that our most experienced juniors are part of the coaching team, together with a team of dedicated members who organise, help rig the boats, and provide coaching.

See Junior Week page on this website for details and booking form. Places allocated in order of receipt of the application form on a first come, first served basis from 6.30pm Monday 4th June. Earlier forms will not be accepted.
